ALC Advise on the Largest Private Equity Transaction in Egypt’s Healthcare Sector to Date

March 5, 2026

ALC- Alieldean Weshashi & Partners acted as Egyptian local counsel to Alameda Healthcare in connection with Development Partners International’s (DPI) USD 190 million minority investment, completed through DPI’s fourth fund alongside a consortium of institutional investors and development finance institutions. The transaction marks a defining moment for Egypt’s healthcare sector and represents the largest private equity transaction in the sector to date.

The investment will support Alameda’s next phase of growth by expanding hospital and clinical capacity across Egypt, advancing medical technologies and service standards, and progressing its regional expansion into Saudi Arabia and the UAE, along with strategic international affiliations.

Led by our Managing and Founding Partner, Dr. Bahaa Alieldean, this transaction marks the largest-ever private equity investment in Egypt’s healthcare sector—a powerful signal of investor confidence in Alameda’s long-term growth, and in Egypt’s healthcare landscape more broadly.

ALC and Matouk Bassiouny as local counsels worked alongside Addleshaw Goddard as international counsel, with White & Case advising DPI. We are proud to support landmark transactions that drive institutional growth, cross-border investment, and long-term sector transformation.
